Choosing inflatable mattresses

  • Sleeping area. Compare actual length, width and inflated height with the sleeper, bedding and room or tent floor.
  • Inflation. Check whether a pump is built in, separately supplied or required, along with its power source and valve compatibility.
  • Use and storage. Review load limits, suitable surfaces, care instructions and packed dimensions before planning transport.

Use inflated measurements to plan the sleeping space and packed measurements to plan storage. A raised air bed and a slim camping mattress have different footprints and access needs. Follow the model’s inflation instructions and distinguish an air mattress from a self-inflating sleeping mat.
