GOOD TO KNOW

A guide to Posters, Paintings & Prints

Choosing posters, paintings & prints

  • Image and frame dimensions. Distinguish the artwork size, visible opening and outside frame measurement.
  • Display format. Check whether the item is framed, unframed or supplied as a multi-piece arrangement.
  • Mounting and materials. Review hanging hardware, frame materials and care instructions.

Comparing options

Separate artwork size, visible opening and outside frame dimensions when measuring. Check how multi-piece arrangements are presented and hung. Use the contents to distinguish an unframed print from a complete framed item.

Questions about Posters, Paintings & Prints

Does a print include its frame?
Check the listing and package contents; a styled image does not establish that a frame is included.
How do I choose a frame for an existing picture?
Match the image or mount size to the frame opening, then check the outside dimensions for your display space.
