GOOD TO KNOW

A guide to Table Tops & Bases

Choosing table tops & bases

Usable surface. Compare the top dimensions and shape with the equipment or place settings you use.
Legroom and access. Check height, leg positions and clearance for chairs, drawers and walking routes.
Construction. Confirm assembly requirements, surface care and whether the listing is for a complete table, top or base.

Comparing options

Compare the working surface with the position of the legs, supports and drawers. A large top does not guarantee the same usable knee space. For a dining area, allow room to pull chairs out and move around them.

Questions about Table Tops & Bases

Does a table top include a base?

Only if the package contents state that it does. Match fixing points and load requirements when buying components separately.

Which desk dimensions matter beyond width?

Depth, height, legroom and space for cables and equipment all affect usability.
